King Asa: The Cure of the Flesh Found in the Heart
July 7, 2011
2 Chronicles 14-16 gives us the account of good King Asa who essentially followed the Lord with his whole heart. But at the end of his life he chose to have faith in someone else besides the Lord & made some big mistakes. To get his attention God sent him a foot disease. King Asa sought the healing from physicians for the rest of his life, to no avail, but he never repented and came to God for help.
The simple question is, “If you are suffering is it because of unrepentant sin?” And the next question is, are you humble enough to repent or are you going to keep seeing the doctors for a cure that only getting right with God will provide?
We are often asked by our physicians to change our lifestyle along with medicine. God requires we change our heart. Make sure your heart is ready for Jesus this Sunday. I wonder why King Asa was not willing – fear? stubbornness? pride? guilt? Do not “mostly” follow the Lord & lose out on the earthly blessing because your faith is in the wrong person or your stubborn heart kept you from enjoying this life. King Asa may have found eternal salvation but he lost out on temporal joy. May we learn and not make the same mistake.
What is harder—Words or Actions?
July 6, 2011
As we gear up for Sunday’s service with the Risen Lord Jesus, I was wondering what is harder—asking the lame to walk or being the lame man and getting up? Both are steps of obedience unto the Lord. Peter and John at the Gate Beautiful in Acts 3 were compelled by the Spirit to take a risk by talking the talk. Wow! I’m not sure I have enough faith to hear God, see the need & then speak! We the church have to speak with the authority and know it is God’s will in the situation. Our part is to believe, discern, & speak.
But it must be something for the lame man to hear these apostles ask him to walk the walk. He’s been sitting there for eons & you want him to believe you heard a word from God that it was his healing time—even though Christ passed him by & never healed Him for 3 years of ministry? Now, when He’s in heaven He is going to do it? What faith it is on both parts to talk it & walk it! Build each other up in the faith!

Form without Function? Phooey!
July 6, 2011
The Scriptures say in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 that in the last days there will be terrible times. One of the signs of the End Times will be those who prescribe to “a form of godliness but denying its power.” Let us check our heart to make sure we actually believe Jesus is the Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King. I want to go to a church where we all believe that God is omnipotent—all powerful! May we never deny our God is, as Chris Tomlin sings, “Our God is greater, our God is stronger God; You are higher than any other. Our God is Healer, awesome in power Our God”
Let us assure Christ that He should not worry nor lose heart. Let us answer with a resounding, “yes” to Jesus who asks in Luke 18:8, “when the Son of Man returns will He find faith on the earth?” – Yes, Lord, we believe!

The Truth Project
December 30, 2010
Starting January 9th, The Truth Project will begin, led by Jane and Lee. Please contact them for more information. Sundays, 6:30-8:30PM in their homes.
Do your personal beliefs really come from a biblical framework, or are they collected from various belief systems and your own (perhaps inaccurate) interpretation of reality? If we say that our God, in Jesus, is truth, we would do well to live lives that are based on the truth He has revealed to us in his Word. A worldview is something much deeper than your personality or how you hold a golf club. It defines your beliefs about reality and your outlook on life. So come on out and discover the Christian Worldview through this exciting video series.
